Winter Promenade – Merano

Description

The Winter Promenade follows the northern banks of the Passer, heading east from the thermal bath facilities and flanking Merano’s old city center, to reach the Passeirer Tor (Porta Passirio) area.

The first section of the walk is bordered by a veranda with Art Nouveau architecture, which Dr. Franz Tappeiner had built in 1889. The walls of the veranda depict scenes from South Tyrol. The central part forms a small pavilion with commemorative plaques and busts of historical figures who contributed to developing the thermal spa town of Merano.
