One of Turin’s most ancient palaces, Palazzo Madama houses the Museo Civico d’Arte Antica, founded in 1860, which conserves historical and architectural documentation from the Roman age to the Baroque work of Filippo Juvarra. The collections include over 60,000 works, paintings, sculpture and decorative arts dating from the Byzantine period to the 1800s.
Palazzo Madama is considered the city’s “drawing room” and is particularly beloved by residents because it incarnates its spirit, history and identity. The evocative rooms on the piano nobile offer a perfect setting for institutional events. Its beating heart is the majestic Sala del Senato (1638), the setting for events that were key to the history of Italy and Europe.
