Fort Campo di Luserna (or Werk Lusern) is a military fortification built between 1908 and 1912. Its structure comprised a main building on the plateau of Cima Campo (1,549m) and two outposts, Viaz (1,507m) to the east and Oberwiesen (1,517m) to the west.
The triangular main building had moats up to 10m across, 4m deep, and like Oberwiesen, was built in concrete with armoured structures carved out of the rockface. Oberwiesen was intended for surveillance of the Val d’Astico and was an essential point for visual communication with the watchtower on mount Rust, fort fort Belvedere-Gschwent and fort Sebastiano-Cherle.
