Fort Cadine, located in the locality of the same name in the municipality of Trento, was designed and built between 1860 and 1861. It is one of the many forts built around the city by the Austro-Hungarians to block access. An unusual characteristic is how the road is closed by the entire building rather than the usual single gate. Built in the shape of a bridge with pink limestone ashlar, it has numerous rooms including a kitchen, living quarters and warehouses for heavy and light artillery.
Currently the fort hosts an exhibition with numerous interactive tools, sensory installations and explanatory panels.
In 2018 the complex was inscribed as a European Heritage site.
