The Teatro Regio of Turin designed by Carlo Mollino and Marcello Zavelani Rossi is an important example of 1970s architecture. The façade designed by Benedetto Alfieri, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is all that remains of its original structure following a fire in 1936.
The theatre has a total of 1,582 seats, most of which are in the graduated stalls area, with a ring of 31 boxes. The colour red predominates while the acoustic cupola, embellished with a structure of 1,900 perspex stele forms a cloud of light. The 4 level foyer covers a surface area of 3,700m2 with bars and two areas: the 750m2 foyer del Toro, with a large marble mosaic of a bull (symbol of Turin and the theatre) in the centre, can host up to 300 people (depending on event type) while the adjacent Sala Caminetto covers 300m2 and can host up to 100 people (depending on event type).
