Palazzo Comelli is located in the historical borgo of Ca' Melati and is part of the EcoMuseo of Camugnano (BO), which reopened to the public in 2014. An example of upper-bourgeois mountain architecture of medieval origins, it became a jewel of the Reno valley thanks to the Comelli family of notaries.
The palace is articulated around picturesque internal courtyards and flanked by the farmhouse, stables and haybarns. The main building houses the reading rooms of the Historical Notary Archive of the Comelli family, display rooms and conference halls. Its large sundial is particularly interesting. The complex also includes the small Oratory of Santa Maria in Porcole, which stands on the road leading to the borgo. Flanked by ancient box plants, the palace has a spectacular view over Lake Suviana with the mountains of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine range in the background.
