Ursus is a 75m tall, old floating crane, with foundations in the seabed, that rises in a corner of Porto Vecchio in Trieste, at pier 23.
Designed and built in the Cantieri Triestini and a significant work of mechanical and naval engineering, Ursus was key in the building of the harbour, coastal areas and naval projects and contributed to creating the excellent shipbuilding reputation that Trieste conserves to this day. Today Ursus is considered a rare example of industrial archaeology.
