Lungo Po Armando Diaz is the most charming embankment in Turin, running alongside the River Po at water level and offering an elegant view over the Murazzi. Named after the WWI leader, senator and minister for war Armando Diaz, the thoroughfare links Piazza Vittorio Veneto to Parco del Valentino and is studded with elegant 19th century buildings. In the southern end, a monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi stands in a pedestrian square at the height of Corso Cairoli.
