Locations

The video game combines real and fictional places, with settings in Italy and abroad. Some scenes are set in Milan, in Corso XXII Marzo: one location, for example, is a partly-faithful reconstruction of the residential building in via Fiamma where the author lived as a child. Others feature references to the piazza di Cesano Maderno, in Brianza, and the Basilica di San Zeno in Verona. All places close to the writer’s heart.

Plot

Promesa, as the official presentation reads, is a personal project that came about from a conversation between a grandfather and his grandson; a narrative experience which offers exploration of dreams and memories with some of the settings inspired by urban landscapes in Italy and Argentina. A journey through the memories of houses and streets that leads to surreal visions of imaginary places. “Listening to someone who evokes their own experience, past and present comingle, producing a flow of images that are both personal and shared”.
An independent game created by a single author, Julián Palacios.
