Torre Cervia is located on the Promontory of Circeo, in the municipality of San Felice Circeo (LT), on the part that juts out furthest towards the sea. Known as the “Torraccia” (ugly tower) because of its state of ruin, it was built as a defence against the frequent raids of the Saracen pirates like the others in the area. Constructed in 1563 by the Lords of Sermoneta and San Felice at the behest of Pope Pius IV, it was destroyed in 1809 and rebuilt in 1947 by Count Galeazzi.
