Cusano Mutri

Description

A small village in the province of Benevento, Cusano Mutri is part of the Regional Park del Matese. Situated on a rocky outcrop, it has kept its medieval character with houses clustered on the sheer slopes around the castle overlooking the valley, winding alleys and stone staircases, arches, bell towers and cupolas that poke above the roofs. The present residential centre was created under the Normans between the 15^th and 16^th centuries. Outside the residential centre, Monte Calvario and its deep gulleys along the River Titerno provide stunning panoramas and nature trails in the surrounding vegetation.
