The village of Positano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most beautiful and characteristic of the Amalfi Coast. Positano was one of the preferred destinations for the ancient Romans who were attracted by the beauty of its landscape.
A picturesque hamlet, set in the mountainside and surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation, Positano resembles a waterfall of coloured houses, one atop the other, when seen from the sea. Between the houses, steep narrow alleys descend to the beach of Marina Grande. The ancient church of Santa Maria Assunta stands on the main square, whose dome, covered with coloured tiles, is visible from every corner of the village.
