Standing at a height of 350m, Ravello is one of the most beautiful villages on the Amalfi Coast: a famous tourist destination, it has always been frequented by literary and artistic creatives, attracted by its cultural vivacity and the charm of its architecture and panorama.
The 11th century Duomo, dedicated to San Pantaleone, contains many treasures, including a bronze door made from 54 tiles. To the right of the cathedral, set in a garden of Mediterranean and exotic plants, the original structure of Villa Rufolo, with its Arab-Sicilian architectural flourishes, dates to the 13th century. Other buildings worthy of note are Villa Cimbrone, whose terraces offer a splendid view of the coast, the 12th century churches of San Giovanni del Toro and Santa Maria a Gradillo and the Coral Museum which displays Roman era artefacts.
