On the western side of piazza Galimberti in the heart of Cuneo is Palazzo Osasco where, the original door plates "Fam. Galimberti" and "Avv. Tancredi Galimberti" on the second floor at number 6 signal the private home and professional office of Tancredi Galimberti sr., later also occupied by Tancredi Galimberti jr. (who was known as "Duccio”, a central figure in the Resistance movement of Cuneo). These apartments are now a museum dedicated to the memory of the Resistance hero and his family.
The display straddling the 1800s and 1900s offers a trip back in time through the history of the Galimberti family, their private lives intertwined with the destinies of the city and the nation, and evokes the atmosphere of when the family was still in residence. The house features an interesting art collection (paintings by Delleani, Grosso, Olivero and sculptures by Bistolfi and Godet), a library with over 20,000 books and the family archive of documents and photographs.
