Mount Moiazza is one of the pearls of the Conca Agordina Dolomites; it is part of the Civetta group and can be reached easily with a two-hour walk from the centre of Agordo, or from passo Duran on the border between Agordino and Zoldano.
The mountain offers many climbing routes, with well-exposed and sunny southern walls and tall western rock faces that reach up to 900 m.
Places of interest include: the Spisolot della Moiazza, a waterfall that springs from the heart of the mountain, and the Vant de le Sasse, a basin between Moiazza and Civetta, where the passage of geological eras is clearly visible and marked on the peaks, home to numerous marmots.
Support points on the Moiazza route include the Bruto Carestiato refuge at its foot, and the San Sebastiano and Cesare Tomè refuges at the passo Duran. There are also two unattended shelters: Ghedini at Forcella delle Nevere and Grisetti at Vant de Moiazza.
Helicopter service may be requested for this and all other high-altitude destinations.
