The passo Duran, in the municipal area of La Valle Agordina (Belluno), connects Agordino and Val Zoldana. The road was built for military purposes during WWI. Easily accessible (1,605 m), it is an excellent starting point for hiking and climbing, as well as offering a wonderful panorama in all seasons and weather conditions of the surrounding peaks, such as San Sebastiano, Moiazza, Pelmo, Antelao, Framont and Agner.
It hosts two refuges – the San Sebastiano and the Cesare Tomè – which offer typical local dishes and overnight stays, and the small church of the Alpini.
It is the closest Dolomite pass to the plain; the Giro d'Italia frequently passes through here.
