The evocative mountain group of Pale di San Lucano is located on the border between the Conca Agordina and the Valle del Biois, between the municipalities of Taibon Agordino and Cencenighe Agordino.
It takes its name from the saint known as "the Apostle of the Dolomites" who is said to have made his home in the valley below.
The walls, which are completely vertical on the Conca Agordina face, offer perhaps the clearest illustration of the origin of the Dolomites, once coral atolls.
