Where it was filmed 'The Bride’s Journey'

After 10 years in the Convent of Atri (represented by the exterior of the Abbey of St. John the Baptist in Lucoli (AQ), young Porzia (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) goes to meet her bridegroom. A last goodbye in the library (Palazzo Primoli in Rome) and the train that will escort her to Conversano sets off. The escort – soon reduced to just Bartolo (Sergio Rubini) – crosses the woods of Corno Grande in Gran Sasso, the Piana di Campo Imperatore, between Castel del Monte and Assergi (AQ), the woods beneath the Prati di Tivo, near Pietracamela. Locations in Lazio include the Parco di Veio especially the Waterfalls della Mola in Formello (RM), where Bartolo shows Porzia his name written with rocks, the plain around Torre di Stracciacappe in Campagnano Romano (RM) where they argue and he walks off, and the area around Rieti, near Castel di Tora and Paganico Sabino. Their journey continues amidst the farmhouses of the Murgia area and Gravina, Altamura, Bitonto, Noci, Vieste. In Noci (BA), in particular, is the Masseria Le Monache, which serves as the school where Bartolo is teaching in the film’s epilogue.
