Lake Selva, also known as lake Cardito, is located at an altitude of approx. 1,000m, between the municipalities of Vallerotonda and San Biagio Saracinisco in the Ciociaria area. It was created in the 1960s following the construction of Enel hydroelectricity power stations.
Over 5km in length, 150m wide and with a maximum depth of 5 m, the reservoir is surrounded by mountains covered with thick forest. To better serve as a visitor attraction, it has been equipped with parking, picnic areas and food options. A protected footpath encircles the entire lake.
