Amalfi, ancient Marine Republic, is located at the heart of the coastline that bears its name. Seen from the harbour, Amalfi is a grouping of houses clustered on the slopes of Monti Lattari with picturesque alleys and staircases leading to Piazza Duomo. Here, at the top of a long flight of steps, is the 9th century Cathedral of St. Andrew dedicated to the town’s patron saint. Amalfi is unique for its natural bays of crystal clear water and its nature trails through the Nature Reserve of Vallone delle Ferriere.
