Based on Fabio Volo’s similarly titled novel which is set in Milan and New York, the film includes Turin among its locations. Based in Milan Giacomo is good at his job but unable to make any commitment in affairs of the heart. Dumped by his latest girlfriend who has thrown his keys into a canal, he is forced to use the tram to go to work. On that tram, he meets Michela. His stop, supposed to be close to where he lives, whose building is in Turin, is actually in via Mario Pagano in Milan. The relationship starts with the looks exchanged between the two until Michela takes the initiative and invites Giacomo for a coffee. After watching her leave and catching up with her in Via Carlo Goldoni, he asks her to dinner. Turin also “lends” Milan the Lamarmora Garden where Giacomo cedes his dog to his colleague Dante. Ricardi’s daughter’s wedding is the opportunity for Giacomo to introduce Michela to his colleagues but she is not at the reception which takes place at Il Passatempo in Chieri (TO).
