Michael Dacruz (Ronn Moss) a broker, buys a farmhouse in Apulia online and leaves New York. The main location of the film is the masseria Don Cataldo in Martina Franca, a stone building set amidst olive groves in the valle d’Itria. When he discovers that the sale was actually a scam, Michael has to tackle a local family, don Antonio Pezzolla (Lino Banfi) and his three children.
The American travels through various places in the valle d’Itria, tackling obstacles and making new encounters – Fasano, Alberobello with its UNESCO World Heritage trulli, Cisternino – and some of the most famous coastal areas south of Bari – Monopoli, Polignano a Mare. Scenes were also shot in the town hall and park of Locorotondo.
