The series Braccialetti rossi was mainly filmed in Fasano (BR), at the CIASU (International Centre for Higher University Studies), which is located on a hill overlooking the sea and was used as the hospital in which the group of young people meet, make friends and face their illness.
Most of the second season was filmed outside in the Apulian town, of which we see the amusement park at the Safari zoo and the exteriors of the institute attended by Vale, for which Collodi elementary school was chosen.
The swimming pool, or rather the limbo where the young patients teetering on the border between life and death hang out, is back and can be found at Bari’s swimming stadium. During this season it’s the turn of Bea to take a dip in the pool, who’s in a coma after being run over by a scooter driven by Chicco (who’s also recovering in the same place), as well as Cris, who injures herself falling from the window after trying to escape from the hospital.
Leo, who is deeply shaken by the worsening of his illness, decides to grant the last wish of his friend Nicola: to find Bianca, the woman he was in love with, and give her a letter. And so he sets off, accompanied by Cris, Vale, Toni and Davide. The five of them take a ferry from Termoli for the island of San Nicola in the Tremiti Islands, where they disembark with their red van. The scene that greets them is actually fictional: the Lighthouse of Punta Palascia, built in 1867 to the south of Otranto, despite the island setting, is actually on the mainland, on the easternmost point of Italy.
During their journey, the kids see an enchanting beach hidden by a cove and decide to stop and have a swim: it’s Porto Ghiacciolo near Monopoli, which is overlooked by the Castle of Santo Stefano, an imposing medieval fortification.
The search for Bianca ends in Cala Incina, in Polignano a Mare. Bianca suggests where say goodbye to Nicola: once again in the province of Lecce in Torre Sant’Andrea, on the magnificent Salento coast.
