Varigotti is a fishing hamlet of medieval origins which belongs to the municipality of Finale Ligure, in the province of Savona, characterized by a long row of colourful houses overlooking the wide beach and crystal clear sea.
The long stretches of beach extend east towards the ancient Saracen settlement in Malpasso and west towards the more recently built area where the beach resorts are clustered. The Baia dei Saraceni is Varigotti’s most famous beach, where lush vegetation grows alongside high rocky cliffs, and one of the longest and most stunning in Liguria.
Places of architectural interest include the Baroque Church of San Lorenzo, with its original late Gothic bell tower, and the ruins of a look-out tower and ancient Benedictine monastery on the promontory of Punta Crema.
