Antonio is a pharmacist and newly-elected MEP, and his ambitious wife Nunzia wants him to use his position to get rich. We see them celebrating at Villa Murat, in Massa Lubrense (NA). We will get another glimpse of the view over the island of Capri at the end of the story, when Antonio, while sitting on a bench lost in his thoughts, sees Olga, the female Prime Minister he met at a hotel in Munich (actually Rome) and went to see in the Baltic States (actually Bonn in Germany).
The rest of the stories take place in Rome. We are treated to a number of panoramic views of the city, especially in Valentina and Fabio’s story. The latter pretends to be a psychoanalyst to get to know Valentina, who falls in love with him. She tells him so in a bar in Villa Balestra Park, the public gardens of which, with their view over Monte Mario Park, are all that remain of the 16th-century villa that once stood on the peak of Mount Parioli above Viale Tiziano. The pair meet again on Sant’Angelo Bridge, with the castle of the same name in the background, where they both attempt suicide only to reveal their reciprocal love.

A number of stories bound by the common themes of betrayal, abandonment and love. MEP Antonio meets Olga, the Prime Minister of the Baltic States, in a hotel in Munich; Max falls in love with Sandra, without realising that she’s his ex-wife’s divorce lawyer; Marco runs into Consuelo, an old flame, the day after he marries Floriana; Fabio, who was dumped by text message by his ex-girlfriend, falls in love with Valentina and pretends to be a psychoanalyst to get to know her; Paolo approaches women who have just been dumped but can’t seem to make anything work.
