Italy is well represented: even in the mobile version, the reconstructions of Florence, Rome and Monteriggioni are identifiable. There are well-executed reconstructions of the main landmarks although they do have some historical inaccuracies: for example, in Florence, Palazzo Vecchio and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Flower are placed together with a sculpture reminiscent of Perseus by Cellini, which is itself historically inaccurate: in 1502 (the year in which the game is set) it couldn’t have been there, as it was made between 1545 and 1554. In Rome the Colosseum and Castel Sant’Angelo are reconstructed. This version of the game does not support free roam mode (like in the original games in the series) and limits the player’s exploration to certain quarters and areas of the cities.

The assassin finds himself in Italy between approximately 1480 and 1550. The setting is the same as in Assassin’s Creed II, the backdrop to the struggle between the Templars and the Borgia family. The version of the game for mobile devices obviously has various limitations that the versions for consoles and PC do not: to make up for the inaccuracy of the touch screen, the controls for the character were greatly simplified, and to make the game lighter, there are shorter missions that are still nonetheless very enjoyable.
