Where it was filmed 'The Feast'

The small village of Diamante in Calabria is the obvious star of this film which celebrates cinema and food and where three aspiring directors (Paolo Briguglia, Lorenzo Di Ciaccia, Lele Nucera) attempt to make their dream come true. The village is perched on a rocky cliff that rises steeply over the Tyrrhenian Sea, an omnipresent character whose sound permeates everywhere. Another key role is played by the stunning terrace overlooking the sea in largo Savonarola, chosen location for the dinner in honour of Gerard Depardieu. The hotel that hosts Depardieu free of charge is actually in Cittadella del Capo, a seafront hamlet in Bonifati, about 20 km south of Diamante.

Are we sure this is the right city?” – the Pyramid of Cestius welcomes the three friends, and new addition Elena (Bouryka), on their arrival in Rome to crown their dream. A fast sequence displays the most famous beauties of the Eternal City, hidden by the chaos of city traffic, in contrast to the wind and sound of the sea in the Calabrian village:  lungotevere, the Colosseum, piazza della Bocca della Verità, with the circular outline of the temple of Victorious Hercules, and the Vittoriano, over to the Church of Santa Maria in Aracoeli with its imposing staircase, used by the actor Francesco (Mimmo Calopresti) to keep fit. Thanks to him, the friends are able to access the dream factory of Cinecittà where a wedding scene is being shot.
