Venice can be explored using a sort of map on the side of the screen that allows the player to click on certain parts of the setting to focus on specific areas, which open up in new windows. It’s a formula there purely to help the investigation, but is one that is nonetheless engaging. Although the graphics of the façades of the buildings are not always clear, the map features a number of well-known locations: they include Palazzo Flangini, Palazzo Giustinian, Caffè Florian, St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, the Riva degli Schiavoni, Palazzo Pisani, and the Bridge of Sighs.
Worth mentioning is that the game comes with a series of real clues – including postcards, tickets and newspaper cuttings – which give the gameplay a pinch of ‘real life Venice.
