The comedy The Honeymoon, an Italia - UK coproduction, written and directed by Dean Craig, opens with the most romantic of intentions: Adam (Pico Alexander) and Sarah (Maria Bakalova), a young British couple, have chosen the perfect destination for their honeymoon, Venice.
Their dream trip, however, becomes a nightmare thanks to the hulking presence of Bav (Asim Chaudhry), Adam’s exuberant friend. The lagoon city is the main backdrop for the trio’s adventures, featuring some very iconic places: piazza San Marco, canal Grande and the bridge of Sighs, and corners of campo San Giovanni e Paolo, the isola di San Giorgio and campo San Vio. There are also the historical and artistic marvels in the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello.
The meeting with the charming mafia boss Giorgio (Lucas Bravo) takes the main characters to his residence, the splendid Villa Cavalli in Teolo (Padua) in the Colli Euganei.
