The film Come prima, based on the graphic novel by the French artist Alfred, narrates the rediscovery of brotherhood and the emotion it brings through Fabio and André’s long journey to their childhood home. A difficult voyage where the two brothers have difficulty communicating and the unease of the years gone by and the unexplored secrets keep them both silent. André (Antonio Folletto) has not told Fabio (Francesco Di Leva) the entire truth while Fabio is vague about the years he has spent travelling. They each question the meaning of this return. The landscapes roll by, providing backdrops for their arguments, their unexpected encounters and the difficulties that keep mounting. France, the Italian border, Naples and the ferry crossing to Procida mark the stages of their reconciliation.
The brothers’ car journey takes the shape of a road movie: one that begins in Normandy, France. Before they reach their island birthplace, they cross various places in Lazio - in the provinces of Frosinone and Rieti, including Fumone, Civitavecchia di Arpino, Casalvieri, Gaeta, Sora and lake of Posta Fibreno - and in Campania, including Castel Volturno, Naples – arriving at their destination, the island of Procida, which greets them as brothers once again.
