Mario is Missing! is an educational game: the player guides Luigi on a journey around the world in discovery of its most famous landmarks. Such a journey had to include Rome. The city is represented on a very basic level and there are not many features that correspond to reality. As the player makes their way through the city’s streets we see ruins in the background that look like the Imperial Fora. As he explores the capital, Luigi must find money stolen from the Trevi Fountain, a spear belonging to a gladiator at the Colosseum, and part of the Sistine Chapel.
