The series is set mainly in Rome. The opening theme is a quick-fire tour of Rome: starting off on Pincian hill. Angelica and Orlando carry two big red hearts around the city, stopping off at the "fontanone" dell’Acqua Paola, piazza Garibaldi and Janiculum, where they enjoy a magnificent view over the city. Then it’s onto the galleria Alberto Sordi on via del Corso just off piazza Colonna, followed by a climb up Capitoline hill, a visit to the Colosseum, the local market in Monteverde, the Circus Maximus, piazza di Spagna, and piazza del Popolo.
Orlando is wealthy and lives in the neighbourhood of Flaminio. For the exterior shots of the house, the production team chose a building that can be found in Via Sacconi. Orlando works with his brother Pietro at an architecture studio in Parioli, in piazza del Fante. The interiors of both locations were reconstucted at Cinecittà studios.
Angelica, on the other hand, lives in the working-class neighbourhood of Testaccio, on via Giovanni da Castel Bolognese (the interior sets of her home were also built at Cinecittà) and works at a local bookshop/games room in piazza Santa Maria Liberatrice (the Libreria Arion, which actually exists). She was supposed to marry Vittorio and go and live in his luxurious villa in a residential complex in Olgiata, which Orlando is renovating.
Angelica’s parents run a patisserie: this also exists in real life. It goes by the name of pasticceria Linari, and can be found in via Zabaglia in Testaccio. Valeria, Angelica’s sister, and her partner Rita, live in via Arimondi in Portonaccio. The two buildings used to shoot the interiors and exteriors of the house face one another.
