Quasi a casa, debut work from Carolina Pavone with Lou Doillon and Maria Chiara Arrighini, tells the story of an insecure twenty-year-old who wants to be a musician but is paralyzed by fear.
Filming began in Rome in September 2023: the story is set during a Roman summer where nothing seems to happen. The protagonist Caterina escapes to the seaside on the trail of her idol, French singer Mia Jerome, who has posted a picture of herself on the Lazio coast on Instagram. They meet in Fregene, a seaside resort in the Fiumicino area. This marks the start of a complex relationship that, over the years, helps Caterina to feel "almost at home".

There comes a moment in life when it’s time to understand our individual place in the world. Twenty-year-old Caterina may have discovered hers: she wants to be a musician, but is paralyzed by fear and insecurity. One summer she meets her idol, French singer Mia. This marks the start of a complex relationship, one which will accompany Caterina for many years and finally allow her to feel at home. Or almost.
