The scene where Niky and Armando try to convince Guido to commit to a relationship takes place in the covered market of piazza Alessandria (Nomentano district).
Guido runs, while clutching a watermelon, through some monuments in the centre of Rome: the arch of Sixtus, between the Esquilino and Castro Pretorio districts; via Statilia and porta Maggiore (San Lorenzo) over to ponte Cestio, on isola Tiberina.

Following a disappointment in love, 45-year-old Guido has reduced his sex life to a compulsive practice of autoeroticism.
