Giovanni (Valerio Lundini) wants to find his birth parents but the law obliges him to have first turned 100. To drum up public opinion about the problem, he looks for help from Gustavo (Sergio Castellitto), the only living centenarian unrecognised at birth who could exercise his right but appears entirely uninterested.
Alessandro Bardani’s debut film Il più bel secolo della mia vita won the Generator +18 section of the 53rd Giffoni Film Festival. Locations included: Convent of Santa Maria Nuova in San Gregorio Da Sassola, Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia, Castello di Torre in Pietra, Castel de Paolis Azienda Agricola in Grottaferrata, Ristorante Acquarella in Trevignano, where the young man and his centenarian companion lunch on the shores of lake Bracciano, Villa Vitetti, Opera Don Guanella and the Rome American Hospital where Gustavo recovers after a “wild” night. The pair make a stop at a service station in Rocca Priora.
